Most Sage students pay far less than the advertised course fee. Sage Education Australia is a Queensland Government Skills Assure Supplier, which means eligible Queenslanders study under programs such as Certificate 3 Guarantee and Higher Level Skills and pay only a student co-contribution.
How subsidised fees work
The Queensland Government pays most of the training cost directly to Sage. You pay a co-contribution fee per unit — typically between $10 and $30 a unit depending on the course and whether you hold a concession card. The exact figure is on every course page under Course fees.
Who is eligible?
Eligibility is assessed individually, but as a guide you need to:
- Be 15 or older and no longer at school
- Live in Queensland permanently
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold an eligible visa
- Not already hold a certificate III or higher (some exceptions apply — ask us)
Holding a higher qualification does not always rule you out — the rules differ between programs. One phone call and we will tell you exactly what you qualify for.
Concession rates
You pay the lower concessional co-contribution if you hold a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card (or are the partner/dependant of a holder), identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, hold a Disability Support Pension, or are a Year 12 graduate enrolling within the calendar year after finishing school.
Fee-for-service and payment plans
If you are not eligible for a subsidy you can still study with us at the fee-for-service rate. We offer interest-free payment plans — a deposit at enrolment and the balance in fortnightly or monthly instalments across your study period. No third-party lenders.
Refunds
Fees are refundable in full if we cancel a course or you withdraw before the start date. Our full refund policy is in the Student Handbook.
